Mental health problems affect almost everyone. Many people experience mental illnesses or psychiatric disorders in many forms. According to evidence-based research, 1 in 5 Canadians experiences a mental illness or addiction problem. It is a well-known fact that by the time Canadians reach 40 years of age, 1 in 2 have—or have had—a mental illness, or they know who have a mental health problem.
However, many people still do not want to talk about it because they are afraid that they might be misunderstood by many people. Nevertheless,s they deserve to know that like physical illnesses, mental illnesses also get better and are treatable.
